The Art of the News

During the Fall of 2021, I assisted The Art of the News exhibit at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art. Along with another former University of Oregon student, we interviewed comics journalist Gerardo Alba. Alba has had his work published in Nib Magazine, and the book Guantanamo Voices: True Accounts from the World’s Most Infamous Prison. The full exhibit included work from many comics journalists and show cased original art, interactive elements, and details from the interviews conducted by students. It was truly eye opening to see how comics could inform as much as it entertains, and learn more about modern comics journalism.
